How it Works
EcoSpring Heat Pump Hot Water Cylinders operate on a principle similar to that of a refrigerator but in reverse. They utilise the surrounding air’s ambient temperature and amplify this energy to warm the water, resulting in significantly lower operating costs than conventional hot water cylinders.
You will need mains water pressure.
A fan pulls in air containing heat energy, across the evaporator.
The evaporator turns the liquid refrigerant into a gas.
The compressor converts refrigerant into high temp / high-pressure gas.
The hot gas inside the condenser coil heats the water inside the tank.
The refrigerant reverts back to a liquid after heating the water & returns back to the evaporator for the process to start again.
Mains Pressure Required
1.0kW Electricity Input + 2.60kW Atmospheric Heat Input = 3.60kW Hot Water Output
The heat pump operates as an energy amplifier, generating more than 3.6 kW of output heat from just 1 kW of power input, resulting in a remarkable performance efficiency of over 300%. This is in contrast to conventional electric storage water heaters, which can only produce 1 kW of output heat from 1 kW of input power.
