How often should I clean the air filter?

You should clean your filter every 3- 6 months. This can be done by removing the top lid and removing the rectangle filter and washing underwater. Dry the filter and refit into position

How often should I get my system serviced?

The Ecospring hot water systems should be checked annually. Checking water temperatures, clock settings, air filter and sacrificial anode.

How do I unlock my display screen?

Press any button on the display once. Press and hold the CANCEL button for a period of 3-4 seconds. The padlock in the top right side will disappear.


How do I change the heat mode setting?

After unlocking the display press the MODE button to change form Economy to Hybrid or E- Heater and press the ON/OFF button to set.


How long does an anode last?

A sacrificial anode will last approx. 2 – 3 years but the annual inspection will be able to determine the life expectancy of the anode.



Can I connect a solar panel to the Ecospring system?

No, we do not recommend any solar panels be connected as this may cause warranty and guarantee issues with the system.

 

How do I adjust the water temperature in the cylinder?

Unlock the screen and use the Up & Down buttons to adjust the water temperature inside the cylinder. We recommend the system be set to 65C degrees in conjunction with a tempering valve installed


How do I set my clock?

Press any button the screen. Press and hold the cancel button to unlock the display panel.


How do I know if I have a ES300, ES300+ or the HP300?

The ES300 has a MODE button on the front display panel.


The ES300+ has a large ENTER button in the centre of the front display panel.


The HP300 has a MODE button and a large ENTER button on the front display.

The air filter will need checked and cleaned every 3-6 months. This is located at the top of the unit on the left inlet side.



How often should I get my system serviced?

We recommend an annual service to check the filter, display settings and anode condition and for any leaks on associated pipework or valving.

How long does an anode last?

The anode will need to be replaced every 2-3 years. This will be assessed on the annual servicing. There is only 1 x anode to replace on this version.


How do I unlock my display screen?

After unlocking the display press the Mode button to change form Economy to Hybrid or E- Heater.

Can I turn off my system if I go away on holiday?

Yes, by pressing the ON/OFF but If you choose to turn the ES300 off you will have to manually turn the system back on and wait for the system to heat up again over a few hours

Can I install the ES300 internally?

Yes, you can install the ES300 internally. If in an enclosed place ducting will have to be connected to the air inlet and outlet of the system to allow the system to breathe correctly. If installed in a garage space, we highly suggest ducting the air outlet to the exterior to help keep the garage space as warm as possible.

 

What size electrical circuit do I need to install?

Can I install the ES300 outside?

Yes, the ES300 can be installed externally but will need to have the Rain Cover purchased and installed to protect the system.

Can it take air from a roof cavity for my Ecospring system?

No, the temperatures in a roof cavity can often exceed 40 degrees so taking air from the roof cavity Is not recommended. The unit will automatically shut down as a self-protection measure until temperatures drop to normal operating levels

 

What happens if there is an error code on the front display?

No, we have a Vacation setting on the display that can be set to turn the system back on the day before you come back from holidays

Can I install the HP300 outside?

Yes, the HP300 can be installed externally. Please note the rain cover is now integrated into the system so no separate rain cover is required.

 

Can I turn off my system if I go away on holiday?

Yes, by pressing the ON/OFF but If you choose to turn the HP300 off you will have to manually turn the system back on and wait for the system to heat up again over a few hours

Where is the serial number located for the HP300?

Can I install the HP300 inside the property?

Yes, but restrictions apply. To service and access the heat pump components for future maintenance and repairs there is a minimum ceiling height clearance of 2500mm.

What are the noise levels of the HP300?

They do make a low humming sound similar to an air conditioner while operating. This should be considered when deciding where to install the unit. Approx. 48 Db’s

 

What are the operating temperatures?

The heat pump operates from -7°C to 40°C, delivering energy efficient hot water even in colder climates.

 

Can I install the Ecospring myself?

No, you will need to contract a Certiying Plumber and a registered Electrician to install this unit.

 

Do I need consent to install the Ecospring system?

Yes, all work undertaken on an installation of a HWHP must comply to;

NZ Building Code, specifically clause G12 (2.2.2, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2, 6.8.3, 6.11, 6.14). Particular mention is 6.14, Safe water temperatures.

Plumbing, hot water supply. AS/NZS 3500.4:2003 (Clause 1.9, 4.14, 5.5.4, 5.8, 5.9, 12.3)
